At B-DACS we are excited to be part of a major new initiative called the People Skills Programme, developed by the CIPD, the professional body for HR and people development, with support from JPMorgan Chase Foundation. B-DACS were pleased to be selected as one of the 50 Glasgow business enrolled in the programme and we attended a launch event at St Mungo’s Museum in Glasgow, where The People Skills Programme was launched by Roseanna Cunningham MSP, Cabinet Secretary for Fair Work, Skills and Training.

The initiative is being delivered in partnership with Glasgow City Council and is designed to help unlock small business productivity and growth in Glasgow through the provision of quality HR and skills development support. Specifically, the programme aims to support SMEs in building their leadership and management/HR capability to help them utilise the skills of their employees more effectively.

B-DACS will be involved in this initiative for the next 12 months which will provide us with free of charge 1-2-1 guidance from an HR professional who will work alongside our business with the aim of boosting our people management capability and ultimately performance and growth potential. In addition we will have access to a telephone helpline to discuss any employment issues, also online information and practical templates to save us time when developing new employment processes and access to local networking and group training events delivered on related people management and skills development topics.

We had the first meeting with our CIPD Consultant last week and have agreed to work on a number of aspects of our Training and Development and HR policies and procedures, specifically our new B-DACS Training Academy which is currently in development. We look forward to this partnership going forward and how this can help us to prosper with the right people skills.
