Toshiba Air Conditioning
Split System - Ducted Units
Iain Allan, pharmacist and owner of Allan Pharmacy in Wishaw, got in touch with B-DACS on a recommendation from his electrician. He was looking for someone to help his business cut down on its electricity use and improve the heating system in the pharmacy.
He had been using electric heaters but these proved to be highly inefficient and resulted in disproportionate energy bills. Iain wanted air conditioning that was relatively cheap to run and could provide a consistent temperature come winter or summer.
Toshiba Ducted Split System
We designed a ducted split system to serve this purpose and initially planned to use a Mitsubishi Heavy Industries unit. The required model was unavailable at the time, so we switched to the Toshiba equivalent, which offers exactly the same specification.
The system features three supply air distribution grilles, which provide even air flow throughout the public and dispensary areas. It also includes a local remote controller which we positioned at a convenient location.
The installation took three days and was carried out during working hours. Our engineers were careful not to disrupt the pharmacy’s normal activities and kept to the areas in which they needed to work. When the installation was finished, they guided Iain through a demonstration of the equipment and made sure he was happy with it.
Advanced Controls and Routine Maintenance
Due to a slight mix-up with the controller – our engineer wasn’t sure it was the right one – we provided Iain with an upgrade. The main difference is that it features a seven day timer, which makes it easier to schedule heating and cooling around working hours.
Toshiba, like most manufacturers, offer an extended warranty if you have a maintenance contract with your installer. Iain took advantage of this and chose our recommended five year bi-annual maintenance package. This will ensure his system remains efficient and problem free.
