Split System, Ventilation Equipment including Heat Recovery Unit
Client Info and Project Background
The Bunnahabhain whisky distillery on the Isle of Islay produces some of Scotland’s most revered peated whisky and attracts tens of thousands of tourists from around the world annually. To add to the experience, a major new visitor centre is currently under construction, and fast approaching completion. B-DACS were brought on board to provide the Air Conditioning and Ventilation Services for the new visitor centre.
The client required a comfort cooling solution as well as a heat recovery unit used in conjunction with their ventilation system, which was to serve the whole visitor centre.
The only obstacle faced during our works at Bunnahabhain were logistical in nature. This was due to the remote location of the distillery in terms of coordination of the delivery of materials and this coinciding with availability of accommodation on the island.
To combat these issues, meticulous planning was necessary to maximize our productive time on site. This was achieved by keeping lines of communication open with all other contractors on the project. In doing so, we were able to select the exact time period that we could be most effective on-site, and resource our engineers accordingly.
Through our effective project management, and proficiency in installation competencies, our engineers were able to travel to Islay and systematically complete the job to client specification. The project was completed successfully and the client was very pleased with the end result.
