B-DACS were successful in winning a contract recently to undertake work at The Secret Herb Garden, Edinburgh. We were tasked with installing a Mechanical Extract Ventilation System into one of the function areas.
The Secret Herb Garden is a specialist herb nursery that sits at the bottom of the Pentland hills on the outskirts of Edinburgh on 7.5 acres of land. Opened in May 2014, the owners Hamish and Liberty have developed a unique and special place. With Hamish’s love of herbs from his background as a wine merchant and Liberty’s enthusiasm for anything vintage, The Secret Herb Garden hosts a little something for everyone.
Hamish and Liberty have grown the business to include a Café, Shop, Glasshouse and Drying Room. The glasshouse is used as an interactive area for visitors to experience herbs from around the world. The drying room is used as an educational space running courses on everything from growing herbs to bee-keeping and candle making. The on-site café sells fresh homemade food, some of which is grown at the Secret Herb Garden. The shop sells items grown from products of the garden too, such as honey, tea, medicinal herbs and candles.
The purpose of the extract system is to remove contaminated air, ensuring that visitors using the function area would have the most comfortable and enjoyable experience. With an established and experienced Ventilation Team, B-DACS can supply & install ventilation systems that are specifically designed to meet your building’s requirements. This would include providing extraction for specific areas and the provision of filtered fresh air throughout the entire space.
